The terms you will meet in this documentation, on the screen and in the fieldbus.

AdiPure The controller and its screen. The board is the electronics; the screen is the touch panel attached to it.

Atomisation Turning liquid water into a fine spray. Each atomisation stage is a valve, a nozzle and its own control.

BACnet/IP BACnet over Ethernet. Uses UDP, port 47808 by default.

BACnet MS/TP BACnet over an RS-485 bus, using the token-passing protocol. Runs on the same physical bus as Modbus RTU; only one of the two can run at a time.

Demand How much water the unit should put into the air, as a percentage from 0 % to 100 %. It can come from an analogue input, an on/off contact, a fieldbus register, or a return-air humidity transmitter.

Duty cycle The fraction of a control cycle during which a valve is open. The controller pulses the valves instead of opening them fully, which is what keeps the atomisation even.

Ethernet The wired network connection. The controller has one port.

Flush drain valve The valve that lets the water in the unit drain away during a flush. On this board it is the Klep5 output.

Flush routine The sequence that cleans the atomisation valves: stop the pump, close the valves, open the drain, flush each valve in turn, close the drain.

High-limit transmitter A humidity sensor in the air leaving the humidifier. Its reading is used to cut the output back before condensation can occur. Called HL Trans on the screen.

Hygrostat A switch that says "the air is dry enough to humidify". The unit only humidifies when the hygrostat input is active.

Limiter The rule that reduces the demand when the measured output humidity is above the high-limit threshold. See Concepts.

Modbus ID The node address of the unit on a Modbus bus. Also called a slave address.

Modbus RTU Modbus over a serial line, with the addresses in the frame rather than in the TCP header. Used on the RS-485 fieldbus and on USB.

Modbus/TCP Modbus over Ethernet.

Relay output A potential-free contact on the controller that you wire into your own circuit. The unit supplies no voltage to it.

RS-485 A two-wire, differential serial bus. One bus carries either Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP.

Sticky alarm An alarm that stays raised until somebody acknowledges it, unlike the transient alarms, which clear as soon as the condition goes away.

Test mode An operating mode in which the unit humidifies at a fixed test demand, ignoring the master enable, the hygrostat, the airflow and the alarms.

Tubes The atomisation stages. The Number of tubes setting says how many the unit has.

Valve lock An advisory lock that stops two parts of the system from commanding the valves at the same time. The flushing routine holds it while it works.

Validation The rule that the high-limit transmitter uses to keep the output humidity below the threshold.
